Playtest Coaching

Playtest is to gameplay what debugging is to development: The guarantee that serious gameplay issues will be handled before it is too late. Playtests lead a development team to focus its attention around what the players are really expecting from the game. They put the players at the center of the development process of a game.

Pascal Luban, the General Manager of The Game Design Studio has a very solid experience in that field since he has been the Playtest Manager on the multiplayer versions of Splinter Cell - Pandora Tomorrow an Chaos Theory. He has also set up the playtest structure at the Ubisoft studio of Bucharest (Romania), one of their largest studios. He is currently completing a playtest coaching mission for 10Tacle on David Douillet Judo.

The Game Design Studio can help you set up your playtest structure, train and coach your own playtest coordinator. Such a temporary structure is not costly to operate and can drastically improve the quality of your games.
